MyHostel Warsaw Review
penny pincher savvy gal just like my mother, and so when I find an absolute bargain, I can’t help but want to share it with everyone I know.
My most recent trip to Warsaw was my third time in Poland’s capital city (you can read about my first time here), and all I wanted was a good sleep. I was getting sick, so I wanted somewhere I could rest and recuperate. For this reason, I checked into MyHostel Warsaw. For 49 PLN, I reserved a bed in a 4 person mixed dorm, and what a sleep I had. Although MyHostel Warsaw is technically a hostel, it is located in the building of the ibis Warszawa Centrum Hotel, and the quality of my room and its amenities were reflective of that.
Each bed comes with fluffy white duvets (trust me, when you’re a backpacker, that’s a real treat), thick curtains for privacy, 2 plug sockets, an adjustable reading lamp, spacious lockers and fluffy white towels. The bathroom is exactly like that of a hotel (I’ve stayed in ibis hotels before and the bathrooms in MyHostel Warsaw are identical).
There is also a small kitchen upstairs, or you are free to use the hotel’s bar and restaurant downstairs. I sampled both the beef cheeks and the chicken burger and both were delicious and budget-friendly.
As far as location goes, MyHostel Warsaw is really close to the Warsaw Uprising Museum and within walking distance to the Old Town.
Honestly, for solo travellers looking to make friends, MyHostel Warsaw is probably not your best bet. You’d be better off staying at Oki Doki if you want more of a party atmosphere. However, if you want a decent night’s sleep because you’re ill, or have a plane to catch, or just can’t stand hordes of annoying backpackers, then MyHostel Warsaw is the place for you. I also recommend it if you’re travelling in a group and aren’t too bothered about meeting other people.
