The Metropolitan Didsbury – The Best Bottomless Brunch in Didsbury?
I’m a sucker for a boozy brunch, and over the last couple of years, I’ve been to my fair share of bottomless brunches in Manchester and beyond.
Since I moved to Didsbury in 2023, I’ve noticed that although there are plenty of pubs, bars, and restaurants around, there really aren’t many places offering bottomless brunch in Didsbury (a real shame, if you ask me).
Luckily, The Metropolitan in West Didsbury is one place that does offer bottomless brunch, so when they invited me to come and try it a few months ago, I couldn’t say no.
Here’s my honest review of bottomless brunch at The Metropolitan, Didsbury.

The Metropolitan Didsbury – Bottomless Brunch Review
The Metropolitan at a Glance
The Metropolitan is a West Didsbury institution.
Formerly a grand Victorian railway hotel, The Metropolitan is one of the most impressive buildings in Didsbury, and despite its cavernous size, it still feels homely, with plenty of cosy nooks and comfortable seats.
The Metropolitan is also home to one of Didsbury’s best beer gardens (if not the best), as well as a ‘Stable Bar,’ Conservatory Restaurant, and ‘The Library,’ which is the main pub area.
It’s also dog-friendly!

Need to know
- Bottomless brunch costs £35 per person for one brunch dish and bottomless drinks for 2 hours
- You can upgrade to a dish from the main menu for £3 per person
Drinks
There’s quite a large range of drinks included in this Didsbury bottomless brunch, including all the drinks from the Spritz menu.
Unlike some other venues, there isn’t the option to upgrade to premium cocktails or spirits, but personally, I don’t think that’s necessary here as there are plenty of drinks to choose from.
Drinks included in The Metropolitan’s bottomless brunch are:
- Prosecco
- Prosecco rosé
- Aperol Spritz
- Sangria Spritz
- Red Berry Spritz
- Hugo Spritz
- Mimosa
- Bloody Mary
- Peroni
- Birra Moretti

Food
The standard £35 offering includes one brunch dish, or you can upgrade to a main for £3.
The brunch menu is quite limited, with only four dishes to choose from. These dishes are:
- Full English breakfast
- Full veggie breakfast
- Eggs Benedict
- Smashed avocado & poached egg on toast
If you’d like to upgrade, dishes include a chicken, bacon & avocado ciabatta, vegan ciabatta (tomato, avocado, vegan feta & salad), a cheese & bacon burger, or a choice of two veggie burgers (which can be made vegan on request).
You can find the full menu with nutritional information here.
My Experience
When Ethan and I arrived at The Metropolitan for our bottomless brunch, we were ushered into the conservatory area, which feels like a cross between a cosy pub and a lush garden.
With plants and ferns hanging from the ceiling, large windows letting in lots of natural light, and rustic wooden tables and chairs, it’s a super aesthetic space.
I will say that it took quite a while for us to get our first drinks, with a wait of least 15 minutes. Of course, when you’re on a time limit, this matters!
However, after a slow start, the staff soon upped their game, and the drinks just kept coming.

We worked our way through the drinks menu, trying both Prosecco and Prosecco rosé, Red Berry Spritz, Bloody Mary, and a Porn Star Martini (this has since been discontinued from the bottomless drinks).
The cocktails were all well-made and tasted great.
For the food we both decided to upgrade. I got the chicken, bacon, and avocado ciabatta, while Ethan went for the cheese and bacon burger, both of which came with skin-on fries.
Ethan’s burger was really thick and juicy, and covered in melted Monterey Jack cheese. He really enjoyed it, and we both loved the fries, which were definitely more like chunky chips.

My ciabatta was really tasty, with a generous amount of avocado, chicken, and bacon.
I was slightly disappointed that the chicken and bacon weren’t warm, but in hindsight, I should have asked before ordering whether it was a hot or cold sandwich.
It wasn’t the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten, but it definitely wasn’t bad. I’d probably give it a 7.5/10.

The Verdict
Overall, I’d say that this is a solid option for bottomless brunch in Didsbury.
Considering that most bottomless brunch sessions are 90 minutes, £35 for two hours is a steal, and I love that upgrading to a main course doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
There’s also a great variety of drinks available to suit a variety of tastes – usually I find bottomless brunch cocktails overly sweet, so being able to order a Bloody Mary or Aperol Spritz was a lovely surprise.
I do wish that there were more food options – even with the £3 upgrade, the choices were pretty limited. I also didn’t like the fact that there were no vegan options on the regular brunch menu, so people following a vegan diet have no choice but to pay to upgrade.
I do think that the quality of the food was good, with both of us enjoying our food.
Atmosphere-wise, it isn’t the kind of rowdy bottomless brunch with live entertainment that some places offer. It’s definitely a much calmer affair – think more girlie catch-up than hen party vibes – but that wasn’t an issue for me!
I think that if you’re looking for bottomless brunch in Didsbury, you can’t really go wrong with The Metropolitan. It’s a lovely pub with friendly staff, and you’ll certainly get your money’s worth!
