The Best Apartments in Krakow for a Group Trip

Planning a trip to Poland with friends and looking for a destination that combines culture, atmosphere, and vibrant city life?

When it comes to the best cities in Poland for group trips, Krakow consistently stands out. One of the country’s most visited and beloved cities, it is an ideal choice for group travel. I recently spent a long weekend in Krakow with some friends, and we had a wonderful time.

Known for its rich history, welcoming vibe, excellent food and walkable old town, Krakow really is the perfect city break.

With that being said, it’s important to choose the right accommodation. Krakow has plenty of gorgeous holiday apartments in the heart of the Old Town that offer much more comfort than some of the sterile international hotel chains.

Holiday rentals in Krakow, Poland

If you want to experience the very best of Krakow, location truly matters.

If it’s your first time in Krakow, I recommend choosing accommodation in the Old Town. This means you’re never far from its most iconic landmarks, buzzing nightlife, and best restaurants

From a centrally located holiday apartment, you can reach most of the city’s top sights on foot – whether it is the Main Market Square, Wawel Castle, or the lively Kazimierz district (be sure to check out my article about the best things to do in Krakow for more tips!).

Wandering through the cobbled streets of the Old Town often leads to unexpected discoveries: an antique bookshop, a cosy underground bar, or a small art gallery that doesn’t appear in the guidebooks.

Holiday rentals in central Krakow are also perfect if you plan to explore further afield.

From the city centre, you can easily hop on a tram, bus or taxi to reach other parts of the city – or take a day trip beyond it.

Reaching Krakow from the airport is also super easy – just a 25-minute taxi ride or a direct train to the Main Station, which is within walking distance of the Old Town.

The benefits of group accommodation

A group trip to Krakow is a great opportunity not only to explore the city together, but also to enjoy each other’s company back at your accommodation.

Group accommodation doesn’t have to mean separate hotel rooms scattered across different floors.

In many of Krakow’s modern holiday properties, you will find spacious rooms and apartments designed with families or small groups in mind – perfect for four or more people, with enough space for everyone to relax in comfort. If you are travelling in a larger group, booking two neighbouring units is also an option.

The most enjoyable group stays combine a central location with practical layouts and a welcoming atmosphere that encourages both shared moments and individual downtime. You don’t just want a hotel room – you want a space with a living area where you can enjoy some downtime, eat dinner together, or enjoy drinks before heading out for the night.

With the right space, everyone can enjoy those shared moments, while also having a bit of privacy.

Whether you’re planning a family getaway, a friends’ reunion, or a team-building retreat, having the right space can make all the difference. Spacious common areas encourage connection and laughter, while comfortable private rooms provide a welcome retreat after a busy day of sightseeing.

You should also look for things like cosy lighting, functional kitchens, and amenities like coffee machines or minibars. Even the small things like slippers and bathrobes can create that feeling of a home away from home.
