Teddy Eva Scents Subscription Box Review
If you know me, you’ll know that I love candles.
Seriously.
Any time I’m spending the evening at home, I have to make sure that my fairy lights are switched on and at least 6 or 7 candles are flickering.
It just doesn’t feel like home without them.
However, despite the ever-growing popularity of wax melts, I’d never really been tempted to try them.
The whole point of lighting candles is for the visual effect, and wax melts don’t exactly flicker (y’know, because they’re not candles).
With that being said, I am partial to a good smell, and if you want a cosy hygge home, it has to smell good, there are no 2 ways about it.
When Teddy Eva Scents, a small family business from Wales, reached out and asked if I’d like to receive one of their wax melt subscription boxes in exchange for an honest review, I practically bit their hand off.
I love free stuff (even if I do have to spend a few hours working in exchange for said ‘free’ stuff), and I especially love surprises, which is exactly what a Teddy Eva Scents subscription box contains.
So, with all that out of the way, here’s my review of my Teddy Eva Scents wax melt subscription box.
Teddy Eva Scents Subscription Box Review
Who are Teddy Eva Scents?
The people behind Teddy Eva Scents are Ross and Rachel (yes, like Ross and Rachel from Friends), and their 3 young children, Teddy, Isabelle, and Archie.
Ross and Rachel are big on social media, and their TikTok account (which currently has almost 90,000 followers) is full of hilarious videos showing what goes on behind-the-scenes at Teddy Eva Scents (spoiler alert – it involves a lot of swearing and sexual innuendo).
Because of their – how should I put it? – ‘unique’ approach, they’ve amassed somewhat of a cult following, and people buy their products just as much for Ross and Rachel as they do for the products themselves.
With that being said, they do try hard to make sure their products ‘aren’t shit.’
On their FAQ page, Ross says ‘We don’t want to make shit products. We don’t want you to be sad and waste your time and money on us. We don’t cut corners and I genuinely try hard at least 65% of the time.’
What more can you ask for, hey?
What are wax melts?
Wax melts are small pieces of scented wax that can be heated in a wax warmer to release their fragrance.
They are a popular alternative to traditional candles as they do not require a wick or flame to release their fragrance (although you can use a tealight to melt the wax if you don’t want to use an electric wax warmer).
Advantages of wax melts
Wax melts have a few advantages over traditional candles:
- They do not require a wick or flame, which eliminates the risk of fire.
- They offer a wider variety of scents and can be mixed and matched to create your own unique fragrances.
- They typically last longer than traditional candles and can be used for several hours before needing to be replaced, making them less expensive in the long run.
- They are also convenient and easy to use, as you can simply pop a melt into the warmer and enjoy the fragrance.
While wax melts are safer and often more cost effective than candles (since they’re cheaper to make and have a longer burn time), one disadvantage is that they’re used purely for scent, and won’t create the ambience that a candle would.

All Teddy Eva Scents wax melts are made from 100% soy wax (safer than paraffin!), and come in fully recyclable PET plastic packaging.
They don’t test their products on animals and all of their products are 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
Teddy Eva Scents Subscription Box review
Every Teddy Eva Scents Subscription Box contains 4x 85g Teddy Clamshell wax melts, and some ‘added extras,’ (which are almost always edible).
If you have any dietary restrictions, just let them know when you sign up, and they can make your box vegan, gluten-free, or whatever else you require.
Each month has a different theme, and as I got the January box, the theme was ‘Fresh Start,’ and the note promised ‘fresh’ scents.
In my box was:
- Bliss Unstoppable 85g Clamshell
- Fresh Unstoppable 85g Clamshell
- Pomegranate and Cherry Blossom 85g Clamshell
- Honeysuckle and Sandalwood 85g Clamshell (not available to buy yet!)
- Sherbet Carrots
- Bag of Rowntrees Fruit Pastilles
Everything was beautifully-packaged, with a funny note on top (saying that these scents are ‘100% the kind of scent Ross would usually slag off’), and the products nestled in pink paper.
I was very happy with the fruit pastilles (a childhood fave), and rather amused by the Sherbet Carrots (which thankfully don’t taste of carrot).
The cost of each box is £17.99, which is great value considering that each wax melt alone is priced at £4.99.
That’s already a saving of £2, not taking the sweets and free postage into consideration (postage is usually £2.99).
When you consider the time and effort that goes into coming up with the monthly themes and lovely packaging, not to mention the quality of the melts, £17.99 is a great price.
As for the scents themselves, I really enjoyed them all, despite my personal taste not really being ‘fresh’ (I’m more of a spiced apple and cinnamon kinda gal).
The Bliss Unstoppable kinda smells like lemon sherbet, and the Honeysuckle and Sandalwood is really fruity and floral.
Fresh Unstoppable has a really clean smell, like fabric softener, and Pomegranate and Cherry Blossom is another light and floral scent.
How long do wax melts last?
Of course, every company makes their melts differently, but according to their website, Teddy Eva Scents Extra-Large Teddy Clamshells (100g) provide at least 96 hours of burn time!
The Clamshells that you get in the subscription box are the regular size (85g), so they won’t last quite as long, but you’re still getting a hell of a burn time with each pack.
Teddy Eva Scents | Final Thoughts
I would definitely recommend signing up for the Teddy Eva Scents Subscription Box if you’re a lover of wax melts and want a constant supply, as well as the excitement of not knowing what theme your next box will be and what scents you’ll get to try.
